Louisiana State University photograph collection, 1862-1989 (bulk 1886-1926).

The Louisiana State University Photograph Collection contains photographs and three photograph albums featuring images of faculty, students, administrators, buildings, sports, the marching band, and other scenes of campus life at LSU's former and present Baton Rouge campuses. The majority of the photographs were taken at the downtown campus and originally had been part of the LSU Historical Museum in the War Memorial Tower. Also included are photographs from the exhibitions "A Golden Century: 100 Years of LSU Football," "Troy H. Middleton: Soldier, Educator, Citizen," and "LSU Past and Present." Photographs from "Execution of Work in Architectural Sculpture," a studio art thesis by Julius Struppeck (1939), were removed from the thesis and added to the LSU Photograph Collection for preservation purposes.
